Release Notes

List of changes

  • Win32 clicks are used if InvokePattern failed (improved since 0.8.3)
  • the -CaseSensitive parameter in Get-UIA[ControlType] cmdlets when performing search without wildcards
  • the ConvertTo-UIASearchCriteria cmdlet provides richer output (the output includes patterns)
  • the Get-UIAControl cmdlet and all its derivatives (Get-UIA[ControlType] cmdlets) now support 'text search':
Get-UIAButton OK;
# or
Get-UIAEdit abc;
It searches for the string provided in Name, AutomaitonId, ClassName and Value of a control. No wildcards allowed here.
  • there is also the -Value parameter in Get-UIA[ControlType] cmdlets (in this version it works with a bug: it returns all fields. It'll be fixed in 0.8.5)

How to use

Start-Process calc -PassThru | Get-UIAWindow | Get-UIAButton -Name [123] | Invoke-UIAButtonClick;
Get-UIAText 123;

# as administrator
services.msc;
sleep -Seconds 2;
# search for a grid cell. It may work slowly with hundreds of cells
Get-UIAWindow -Name services | Get-UIAEdit 'BranchCache';
